The MACK Group, LLC, recently completed a project that consisted of the asbestos abatement and rigging/removal of a large steam boiler and associated stack located in a pharmaceutical facility in New Jersey. The owner wanted to change out the outdated boiler for a new more efficient boiler. The time schedule to replace the boiler was very aggressive so The MACK Group proposed the rigging/removal of the entire boiler rather than the time consuming removal of cutting it up into small pieces.

The asbestos project consisted of the asbestos abatement of boiler breaching and pipe insulation and the rigging consisted of the boiler, stack, condenser and associated piping.

The MACK Group, LLC. utilized HEPA negative air filtration units, bobcats, aerial lifts, cranes, forklifts and six of there NJ licensed asbestos workers to bring in the project ahead of schedule and without injury.

The MACK Group, LLC, recently completed a project that consisted of the decontamination and decommissioning of former large former chemical manufacturing facility located in Newark, NJ. The owner wanted to re-utilize the valuable property located on Newark Bay where a former outdated chemical manufacturing plant existed. In order to do this, a complete decontamination, decommissioning and demolition was required.

The project consisted of the asbestos abatement of asbestos floor tile and mastic, asbestos roofing, asbestos piping and elbows, asbestos transite wall board, asbestos galbestos siding and several large asbestos tar coated above ground steel tanks.

The MACK Group, LLC. utilized there 40,000PSI water blaster, HEPA negative air filtration units, bobcats, aerial lifts, chutes and twelve of there NJ licensed asbestos workers to bring in the project ahead of schedule and without injury.

The MACK Group, LLC (MACK) Completes the Interior Demolition, Decontamination and Decommissioning of a 35,000sf Former Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility Located in Northern New Jersey.

The MACK Group, LLC, recently completed a project that consisted of the decontamination and decommissioning of former drug manufacturing facility. The owner wanted to decommission its manufacturing facility and re-utilize the building for other purposes. In order to do this a complete decontamination, decommissioning of the former manufacturing process along with interior demolition was required.

The MACK Group, LLC (MACK) was contracted to decontaminate, decommission and demolish the outdated manufacturing facility. The facility required the decontamination and demolition of HCL and NaOH vessels, scrubbers and associated piping along with minimal asbestos and mercury cleanup. Certain areas were put under negative pressure full containment with HEPA filtered negative air machines and a attached personnel decontamination unit in order to not cross contaminate other clean areas. HAZWHOPER trained MACK workers utilized chemical Tyvek suites and Full Face PAPR respirators during the entire decontamination process. To decontaminate surfaces, MACK used a combination of proprietary cleaning products and also machines that they own in their fleet of equipment. Upon completion various tests were done in order to ensure the area was clean.

The project was completed on schedule, under budget and without incident or injury.

The MACK Group, LLC Completes Asbestos Abatement of a 400ft High Active Concrete Stack

The Mack Group, LLC. Completes the Unique and Challenging Asbestos Abatement of a 400ft High Concrete Coal Fired Power Plant Stack in Northeast PA While the Stack Remained in Operation.

The MACK Group, LLC completed the asbestos abatement of a 400ft high concrete coal fired power plant stack in Northeast Pennsylvania. The project consisted of the asbestos abatement of 20,000sf of asbestos containing rubberized paint 1/8” thick on the exterior of the 400ft high stack while the stack remained in operation.

Because the aging concrete stack was in need of repair a structural carbon fiber shell was proposed for the stack to give it a new life. This carbon fiber shell would allow for the stack to not to have to be demolished and completely rebuilt but remain in operation and be refurbished. In order for this carbon fiber shell to be put in place, all the exterior asbestos containing paint needed to be removed from the stack. Three 400ft high pump jack towers were put in place surrounding the stack. These towers were then plasticized and put under HEPA negative air filtration. The MACK Group workers then utilized specialized HEPA equipped powered hand tools to remove the rubberized asbestos paint. Since the stack was still in operation and emitting noxious gases the top 50ft of the stack MACK Group workers increased the PPE to Type C supplied air. The MACK Group’s PA licensed asbestos workers brought this unique and challenging project in on schedule and without injury.
